Our Social Responsibility
Carpe Diem Raisins is involved with a Women in Agri Development initiative.
The main objective of this program is to empower previously disadvantaged women in agriculture by ensuring skills transfer, mentorship, and capacity building.
This co-operative has existed since 2006 with a membership of 112 small emerging farmers, of which 25 are women farmers. From this, seven women farmers were nominated to be part of this initiative. During 2021, four of the women planted approximately 3.5 ha of vineyards and the remaining three women’s drying facilities were upgraded to improve the quality of their raisins. Various trainings were also offered which included BBBEE transformation and entrepreneurship and were presented by Sipheithemba. This project will nominate a new group of women in the Eksteenskuil community after every second year to also offer them an opportunity to be a part of this.

Carpe Diem Raisins prides itself in empowering our employees by providing training and engaging them in Learnership programs.
In 2021 Carpe Diem Raisins Management decided to invest in Social Development through the ongoing implementation of Learnerships and Skills Programs supported by an External Training Body. This initiative aims to develop our workers with additional skills to help improve efficiency through the application of continuous improvement methodologies. We also support Artisan training and have already helped three Artisans to qualify in their trade.
